(VOVworld)-Vietnam always respects and does its utmost to nurture the traditional and special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a reception in Hanoi on Saturday for Lao National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotu. Mr. Phuc noted that Vietnam has helped connect Laos to the sea and will build the National Assembly building for its neghboring country.
Construction of the Lao National Assembly building is scheduled to commence in July. Chairwoman Yathotu appreciated Vietnam’s support over the past years, particularly in allowing Laos to use Vung Ang port, the shortest strategic way between Laos and the sea. Ms. Yathotu was in Vietnam to attend the 60th anniversary of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, a major investor in Laos.
