During the competition, Nam took everyone by surprise with his convincing victories against much higher rated players including Eremin Edoardo (Italy, 470th in the world), Baris Erguden (Turkey, 650th), and Cameron Silverman (USA, 1,082nd). This is Nam’s third consecutive jump on the ATP rankings since the beginning of 2015, following his 190-notch promotion to 1,256th on May 11 and 34-place jump to 1,242nd on July 13. On the ITF Junior world rankings, Nam is sitting in 12th place with 82,625 points. Nam is currently training for the last Junior Grand Slam of his career, the 2015 US Open, slated for September 6 to 13. Nam will be named No. 12 seed in the boys’ singles event. He will also pair up with Japan’s Akira Santillan to compete in the boys’ doubles category.
