NDO – Vietnam’s tennis star Ly Hoang Nam rose 190 notches to settle for the 1,256th position for the first time in the latest ATP rankings announced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on May 11. >> Vietnamese tennis star seeded at Junior Grand Slam Nam’s incredible promotion came as a result of him qualifying for the quarterfinals of the recent Thailand F2 Futures, which earned him two additional points and raised his ATP rating points to five. So far, Do Minh Quan has been known as the Vietnamese player with the best ATP ranking – 1002nd in 2006. Regarding the ITF Junior boys’ rankings, Ly Hoang Nam is standing at 14th place with 689.38 points, which has made him a No. 11 seed at the 2015 Roland Garros Junior French Championships scheduled to kick off later this month. Nam will participate in the 56° Trofeo Bonfiglio ITF Grade A Junior, to be held in Milan, Italy from May 18 to 24 as a warm-up for the Roland Garros. The tournament will be played on clay attracting many of the world’s leading young players, with Nam seeded seventh.
