The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) has just received 20 tons of Chlorine chemical supplied by MARD to prevent and control diseases for aquatic animals in the provincial area. DARD is also responsible for preserving and using chemical for the proper purposes and the technical process. Earlier, on 2nd July, in order to assist Quang Ngai province in preventing and combating diseases for aquatic animals, MARD decided to supply (free of charge) 20 tons of chlorine chemical from the national reserve for the province. According to DARD, from early this year to now, the whole province has had over 105 hectares of white-leg shrimp farming areas affected by diseases, especially in Duc Pho district with 32 hectares and Quang Ngai city with 27 hectares. Besides, in the first 6 months of 2014, Quang Ngai also recorded two cases of diseases causing mass mortalities of fish in Nuoc Trong reservoir (Son Ha district) and fish farming cages on the Tra Khuc river, the section passing through Tinh Son commune (Son Tinh district).
