Central Khanh Hoa province, home to world-known Nha Trang Beach, is set to get 10 four-star and five-star hotels with nearly 3,000 rooms in 2014 and the next few years as the province hopes to attract more well-heeled travellers.
The Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said there are currently 550 hotels and guest houses with nearly 15,000 rooms.
Of them, seven are five-star hotels with over 1,200 rooms, six are four-star with more than 1,100 rooms, and 35 are three-star with nearly 2,700 rooms.-VNA

Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association is making a plan to attract more visitors from Korea and Japan. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and tourism has asked local authorities and enterprises to strictly monitor the development of Zika virus and inform travelers about current health issues. It required relevant ministries and localities to provide businesses and visitors with preventive measures as guided by the Ministry of Health. Khanh Hoa (VNA) - Silent Bay Travel and Trade Co. Ltd was fined 80 million VND, or 3,590 USD, by the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee on July 19 for bad record keeping and employing illegal foreign workers. As a tour operator in resort Nha Trang City, the south central province of Khanh Hoa, its International Tour Operator license had been withdrawn by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. The People's Committee in the central province of Khanh Hoa is considering installing cameras at strategic locations to protect foreign tourists from being victimized by petty thieves and pick-pocketers. Province leaders held a meeting with police officials on October 11, in which they discussed various measures to prevent crime, especially against foreign tourists. About 20 travel firms in Khanh Hoa Province met on March 7 to discuss a plan to form a club responsible for serving tourists from China, a major source market for the Vietnamese tourism sector.
