Vietnamese shooters have defeated their Singapore and Malaysia rivals to win gold medal in the men team’s 50m pistol event at the ongoing 27th SEA Games on December 13 competition day.
Three of the Vietnamese shooters making up the victory were Nguyen Hoang Phuong (543 points), Hoang Xuan Vinh (561 points) and Tran Quoc Cuong (545 points).
All the three shooters are set to take part in the final rounds in other events with five regional rivals including Naung Yetun (Myanmar); Gaibin, Lip Meing (Singapore); and Chew Eddy and Guanie Jonathan (Malaysia).
The 27th SEA Games comprises 33 sports that award 460 golds, 460 silvers, and 637 bronze medals.
Over 6,000 athletes and officials from 11 Southeast Asian countries participate in the biggest biennial tournament in the region.
