As many as 2,000 youth union members and young volunteers from universities and colleges, armed forces and businesses in the central city of Hue took to the streets to participate in environmentally friendly activities.
(VOV) – On December 29, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Youth Union launched an action program for a green, clean and beautiful environment in collaboration with Hue Beer Company.
They also held a bicycle parade to promote the importance of environmental protection and living an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Provincial Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Chi Quang said the aim of the programme is to encourage local youths to become actively involved in environmental protection and consider it one of the key tasks in adaptation to climate change.

Nearly 200 young volunteers from 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong River Delta cooperated with soldiers to carry out many meaningful activities on Tho Chu Island, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang province during the first days of April. These young volunteers presented newspapers, computers, televisions and karaoke kits to army units on the island. Realizing that environmental protection is very urgent and vital, Thuan An district last year selected Binh Hoa commune's Binh Dang hamlet to set up the self-management group of environmental protection. The model has upheld its efficiency at Binh Dang hamlet. As of March 2009, the model was multiplied in the district's remaining communes and townships, namely An Phu, Vinh Phu, Hung Dinh, Binh Chuan, Thuan Giao, An Son, Binh Nham,Lai Thieu and An Thanh.
