On December 6, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, held a reception for Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) in Vietnam and 15 Korean enterprises. Led by Mr. Kim Ho Kyun, Director of KCCI in Vietnam and, the delegation aimed at learning investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue Province. Attending the reception were Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Deputy Chairman of the PPC, leaders of related departments and representatives of the provincial enterprises.
On behalf of the PPC, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao expressed his pleasure to receive Korean enterprises to Thua Thien Hue to learn investment opportunities. He confirmed that Thua Thien Hue was enhancing to implement open policies to attract international investors, especially Korean investors.
According to Mr. Cao, Thua Thien Hue and Korea have kept a good cooperative relationship in recent years. Lots of Korea’s ODA projects implemented in the province have brought positive results and contributed to boosting the provincial socio-economic development. However, in terms of FDI, Korea accounts for only 2% of total FDI in Thua Thien Hue. As this is a modest rate compared to the potential cooperation between two sides, the PPC Chairman wished that KCCI in Vietnam would further support Thua Thien Hue in calling and introducing Korean investors to the province.
Thua ThienHueProvince will boost the cooperation with KCCI in Vietnam and create the most favourable conditions for Korean investors. Mr. Nguyen Van Cao hoped that many other Korean enterprises would know more about Thua Thien Hue and come to the province to learn investment opportunities via the delegation.
Also at the reception, representative of the Department of Planning and Investment, under the PPC’s authorization, introduced potentialities and advantages of the province in the sectors of tourism, industry, transportation, education and training, etc. as well as investment incentive policies.
Accordingly, Korean enterprises and the provincial departments and enterprises discussed about the possibility of cooperation between two sides. Korean enterprises were interested in investment advantages in ThuaThienHueProvince.
Taking this opportunity, the delegation paid a visit to some manufacturing facilities and had meetings with some related departments and Thua Thien Hue Construction Joint-stock Corporation.
