HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Domestic retail gas prices increased by VND12,000 (US$0.57) per 12-kg canister on Saturday, according to wholesalers.
It is reported that the hike occurred because of higher world gas prices.
The current prices range from VND398,000-400,000 ($18.9-19) per 12-kg canister. This is the fourth consecutive gas price hike since May with total increase of VND34,000 ($1.6) per canister. Earlier in the year, there were four consecutive price cuts.
The current price remains VND42.000 VND ($2) per canister lower than at the end of 2012. — VNS

HA NOI (VNS)— The retail gas price for a 12kg canister in HCM City has dropped by VND4,000 (US$0.2), Sai Gon Petro Gas told the online VnEconomy. The gas distributor is now retailing its 12kg canisters at VND405,000 ($19.47) each. The slump came after the world gas price decreased by $15 to $895 a tonne over the past month. Gas prices will increase sharply by VND20,000-30,000 per barrel as of February 2, according to local gas trading companies. The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance has decided to slash gas import taxes to zero percent from a previous 5% beginning from March 2. Departments of finance in cities and provinces under the direct management of the central Government were told to oversee the ministry's request to better regulate the market.
