PANO – 1,000 fishermen’s relatives in Pho Thanh commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province were provided free health check-ups and medicines on August 31st by a youth delegation from banks in Ho Chi Minh city and the City’s Department of Health.
The delegation also handed over 20 scholarships to needy fishermen’s children with good academic results, 100 gifts to needy fishermen’s families, 650 blankets and warm clothes to local people as well as organised entertainment activities for 1,000 local children.
Earlier, the participants had offered incense to heroes, martyrs and late doctor Dang Thuy Tram, and presented 500 medicine sets and medical equipments to Dang Thuy Tram infirmary.
On September 1st, the delegation visited and handed over gifts to border guards on Ly Son island.

Da Nang (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang has implemented policies to support local fishermen, said Luu Quang Khanh, head of the city’s Fisheries Department. Under Government Decree No. 67/2014/ND-CP on incentives to support fishery development, eight projects on building new fishing ships have been granted preferential credit, with four ships already operational. The fishermen's fund and the fisheries society in the central province of Quang Ngai has recently handed over an amount of money as support for fishermen who suffered losses during production at sea.
