The budget carrier Jetstar Pacific started selling tickets for Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival from September 9th.
In this first drive, the airline will provide around 140,000 tickets for passengers.
High travel demand on the occasion of Tet will last 40 days, with peak flights from the South to the North between January 12th and 31st, 2014, and from the North to the South between February 1st and 20th, 2014.
The carrier forecast that travel demand during the Tet holiday will be within 40 days, including 20 days before Tet from January 12 to 31, 2014 and 20 days after Tet from February 1 to 20, 2014. For flights from Northern to Southern Vietnam during the before-Tet period and return flights during the post-Tet period, Jetstar Pacific will sell more than 122,000 seats. Mien Dong Bus Station, one of Ho Chi Minh City's two biggest bus stations, has suspended selling tickets for Tet (Lunar New Year) travel as of Tuesday, following a disagreement over tax with city officials. Transport Ministry Inspectorate has uncovered a serious loophole in the process of sale of Tet train tickets by Saigon Railways, which resulted in a huge scarcity of tickets for disappointed passengers. National carrier Vietnam Airlines began selling tickets for the Lunar New Year season on Wednesday, the company said in a release. Vietnam Airlines has begun to sell tickets for flights before and after the Tet holiday (the Lunar New Year), which falls on February 10 next year. HA NOI (VNS) — More than 90 per cent of train tickets on peak days of the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, which begins next month, have already sold out, according to Vietnam Railway (VNR).
