Embassies of the ASEAN member countries in Belgium have jointly organised the 2013 ASEAN Family Day with an aim to tighten the solidarity among the association’s members.
This year, ASEAN families gathered in Liege city, about 100 kilometers southeast of Brussels, to showcase their countries’ traditional dishes, including “Nem” (Spring roll) of Vietnam, mami noodle of the Philippines, and steamed glutinous rice served with roast of Laos .
Participants also had a chance to take part in various games featuring the cultural diversity of the ASEAN community.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

An ASEAN Family Day took place in a joyful atmosphere in Geneve state, Switzerland on July 10 Attending the event were diplomats and their families from ASEAN countries, representatives of the World Trade Organisation and other international organisations in Geneve. Many representatives of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) working in France participated in numerous activities held in Cergy City in the Northwestern outskirts of Paris on June 16 to mark ASEAN family day. The event, held every June, offered all families of ASEAN staff present in Paris a good chance to get together and exchange their cultural values such as traditional dishes, songs, dances and folk games. Vietnamese Consul General to Hong Kong and Macau Hoang Chi Trung and his spouse joined other diplomat couples from the 10 ASEAN member countries at the ASEAN Family Day at Indonesia’s Consulate General in Hong Kong on February 27. Vietnamese diplomats joined their counterparts from nine other ASEAN member countries at the ASEAN Family Day 2010 held in the Kasai Rinkai Park on the outskirts of Tokyo on October 16. The ASEAN Family Day is an annual event to boost the friendship and cooperation among ASEAN diplomatic missions in Japan . The ASEAN Family Day 2015 was held in Mexico on February 14 with a view to fortifying traditional friendship and collaboration between nations in the bloc as well as with the host country.
