Park is also scheduled to meet with other top Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
President Park’s decision to visit Vietnam reflects the importance she attaches to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the office said.
Vietnam and the RoK established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992.

President Lee Myung-bak of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and his wife will pay a three-day official visit to Vietnam next week, the Communist Party of Vietnam said on its website Oct 14, citing a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The RoK leader will make his trip, slated from Oct 20-22, at the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet, the statement noted.
