Provincial Federation of Labor and Hai Dang Telecom-Electronics Co., Ltd. have just handed over two long-range base stations of Icom IC-M802 FMS machine to two Fishery Unions of Nghia An commune (Tu Nghia district) and Binh Chau commune (Binh Son district).
A VND 250 million equipment has been installed with two Icom IC-M802 FMS machines with the capacity of from 20W – 150W, radio receiver within a radius from 2,000 to 3,000 km. In addition to the communication connection, the Icom IC-M802 FMS machine also features the global position, determines the coordinates, location of vessels on sea, calls emergency and listens to the weather forecasts and relevant information.
Once in operation, the aforesaid equipment will help the authorities manage and support better fishermen, bringing many benefits for fishermen, especially in the rescue and search at sea.
The central province of Quang Ngai will provide nearly 31.5 billion VND (1.5 million USD) for fishermen to conduct offshore activities in the first phase of 2014. Accordingly, 325 fishing vessels in Quang Ngai city, Binh Son, Mo Duc and Duc Pho districts will receive over 30.7 billion VND to cover fuel costs while 97 million VND will be used for insurance for 32 ships and their crew members. The Quang Ngai People's Committee has recently decided to provide funds for local fishermen who often go fishing for long time at high seas. According to Provincial officials, the support package worth more than VND 2.9 billion is mainly used to back fishermen in buying fuel that is now at a high price and often eats out of their profits. QUANG NGAI (VNS) — The central Quang Ngai Province authority has announced that a large fishing centre will be built at Sa Ky fishing port with an investment of about VND995 billion (US$47.3 million). It will create work for thousands of labourers. The project, backed by Vien Duong Construction and Trade Companym will cover more than 26 hectares at Tinh Ky Commune in Quang Ngai City.
