PANO – The Command of Military Zone 9 on July 15th opened its 6th sports festival with the participation of more than 1,300 athletes from 27 subordinate units.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Lieutenant-General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Commander of Military Zone 9, said that the event aims to evaluate the sport training quality for the zone’s units, as well as select outstanding athletes for the upcoming sports festival held by the Ministry of National Defence.
The Military Zone 9’s festival will last untill July 20th.

PANO - The High Command of Military Zone 9 kicked off a festival on using inland waterway and search and rescue (SAR) vehicles in 2013 on August 7th in the presence of Lieutenant General Tran Quang Khue, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. PANO – Units of the Military Zone 9 have recently carried out many practical activities to welcome the 68th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and 23rd anniversary of the Whole People’s Defence Festive Day. Particularly, Division 330 has handed over 4 gratitude houses worth a total of VND 300 million to its needy officers. PANO - Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh, led a mission to work with the High Command of Military Zone 9 on January 21st. PANO - A Defence Ministry delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant-General Le Huu Duc, Deputy Defence Minister, visited the Can Tho city Command and Brigade 226 under Military Zone 9 on August 7th. At Brigade 226, General Duc and the delegation visited troops from Battalion 145, the Brigade’s Clinic and Headquarters. PANO - Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh, attended Military Zone 2’s Politico-Military Conference to review its military and defense missions’ results and work out new tasks for 2013 on January 3rd.
