Vietnam’s leading chess player Le Quang Liem has jumped from 34th to 4th in the FIDE’s most recent World Blitz Chess rankings for July. Liem’s overall victory at June’s 2013 World Blitz Chess Championships in Russia was a major contributor to his 2839 Elo. Russia’s Karjakin topped the table with an Elo of 2873, followed by Norway’s Carlsen (Elo 2856) and the US’ Nakamura (Elo 2.844). Liem also leaped 15 places to 20th in the World Rapid Chess rankings. He remained 33rd in the world at standard chess with an Elo of 2712.
