A delegation from the Communist Review, a theoretical and political agency of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), made a visit to the United Kingdom from July 16-20.
The delegation, led by Editor-in-Chief Vu Van Phuc, on July 17 visited Newhaven, a British seaside town where late President Ho Chi Minh arrived in 1913 while working on the cross-channel ferry service from Dieppe of France.
Phuc also worked with Prof. John Callow, Director of Archives at the Marx Memorial Library, and Len Aldis, Secretary General of the UK-Vietnam Friendship Association.
During their visit, the Vietnamese delegates had a working session with the daily Morning Star, visited several universities and other press agencies.-VNA
NDO/VNA – A delegation from the French Communist Party (PCF) visited the northern province of Bac Ninh on October 28 to study the role of the province’s Party organisation in directing local socio-economic development. Hanoi (VNA) – The Communist Review, a magazine of the Communist Party of Vietnam, wants to exchange news and article with press outlets in the Netherlands to have more channels to introduce the Party as well as the land and people of Vietnam to local readers. While in the UK, the delegation worked with a number of UK parliamentary agencies to learn about the operational model of the British Parliament as well as the legislative process, the role and authority of the parliamentary committees in promoting legislative and supervisory activities and attending the hearings in the British Parliament. On November 4, the delegation went to the Karl Marx commemorative library where they were introduced to many valuable documents, and visited a room where Lenin stayed from 1902 to 1903. They also laid wreath on Karl Marx's grave at Highgate Cemetery where many famous people have been laid to rest.
