A folk music festival titled “Folk Me Folk You” will be held for the first time at Hanoi Social Club on July 6.
A lot of bands including Rabbit Hole, Dung Thuy & Chi, Follow the Lemming, Jordan Senior, The Nerys Joseph Band, Christophe, You Say Tomato will take part in the event and present to listeners folk songs.
Participants will have a chance to enjoy games and workshops during the festival.
The festival is co-organized by the Hanoi Social Club and Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam (HSCV).
All the door proceeds will go to assist HSCV’s children foster home and other charity programs in Vietnam.

The Sofitel Metropole Hanoi hosts a charity concert to raise funds for children with eye problems this evening with the participation of famous artist Bui Cong Duy and his friends. The performance will include compositions by Chopin, Mozart, Haydn, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky and Bizet in the Thang Long hall. The Charitable Golf Tournament - Swing for the kids - aimed to raise funds for children concluded at the Van Tri Golf Course in Hanoi on April 24. The fourth tournament attracted 200 golfers who are diplomats, representatives of international organizations in Vietnam and domestic and foreign players. Over the past three years, the tournament has raised nearly VND2 billion to present 3,000 scholarships to poor students and provide emergency aid to children in natural disaster- hit- areas. The Supporting Children Fund announced that they raised VND 65billion in 2013 reaching 125 percent of the target plan. The fund supports 1.5 million disadvantaged children through programs such as For Kids Heart, For Kids Eyes, For Kids Smile in 2013. Underprivileged children in Ho Chi Minh City have received kind treatments and gifts from hotels here during the Festive Season. On Dec. 20, the management and staff of the five-star Legend Hotel Saigon visited Hoang Mai Center in Go Vap District to serve festive buffet lunch to disabled children there, and donated VND20 million and Christmas gifts to the center.
