Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) in Vietnam officially kicked off a series of special events and activities leading to Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2014 with the theme “Celebrating 1Malaysia Truly Asia”. The goal is to attract 28 million international tourists in 2014.
Starting in June, a tourism-focused roadshow is being organized in three cities in Vietnam including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An. The programme will start in Hanoi on June 18th at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, and then in Ho Chi Minh City on June 20 at New World Saigon Hotel and in Hoi An on June 22nd at Hoi An Hotel. Especially, the roadshow in Hoi An will be organized in conjunction with ‘The 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013′.
Mr Mohd Akbal Setia, Director of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board in Vietnam, highlighted that the programme is the combination of diverse activities including business matching and exchange activities between Malaysian sellers including tour operators, hoteliers, theme parks, corporate entities and leading travel agents and airlines in Vietnam. In addition, the product presentations in the programme will provide useful information about new tourist attractions and destinations in Malaysia as well as the tourism support policies provided by Malaysia government for Vietnam partners. Besides, the programme will also introduce business opportunities, trade fairs and exhibitions in Malaysia.
The roadshow is a good opportunity for travelers who are interested in discovering the beauty of Malaysia. The year of 2013 also marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Malaysia. The visit expresses not only the diplomatic ties but also the bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the fields of economics, culture, and tourism.
