VFA reported that rice price in the Mekong River Delta has decreased slightly. The dry rice price has fluctuated around VND4,850-4,950 per kilogram, while long-grain dry rice has cost VND5,100-5,250 per kilogram.
The price of type 1 material rice for making five-percent broken rice has been VND6,500-6,600 per kilogram, depending on the locality. Material rice for making 25 percent broken rice has been priced at VND6,100-6,200 per kilogram.
The Prime Minister has signed a decision on purchasing rice from the 2013 summer-autumn crop in the Mekong Delta for temporary reserves from June 15 to July 31.
The State budget will cover 100 percent of loan interest for businesses to buy rice for three months, from June 15 to September 15./.
