HAU GIANG (VNS)— Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang have raised the alarm over areas in the province that have a high risk of landslides.
Cracks with a total length of more than 1,200m were also detected along canals in Tan Thanh and Dai Thanh communes, according to the provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control.

The Mekong delta province of Hau Giang celebrated the fifth anniversary of its formation February 12 with President Nguyen Minh Triet and former Party leader Le Kha Phieu in attendance. Leaders of the Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. on October 24th worked with Hau Giang provincial leaders to promote the building of a solar power plant in the province. James Gia Co, Director of Jinko projects in Vietnam, said that the company had registered to invest in the Jinko Solar Vietnam solar power plant in Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province. With 100 percent of votes, all members of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee have agreed to expel Trinh Xuan Thanh, a member of the Hau Giang provincial Party Committee, from the Party. James Gia Co., the legal representative and directors of Jinko Solar projects in Vietnam, said the farm would be built on an area of 50 hectares in Hoa An commune of Phung Hiep district at a total cost of over VND$1.2 trillion (US$54 million).
