PANO – The Me Trang Coffee Joint-Venture Company, on June 7th, organized a program, “Together with Me Trang towards Truong Sa”, on the occasion of the Sea Festival 2013.
The one-year long program (from June 2013 to May 2014), with the message, “Truong Sa is always in the hearts of Vietnamese people and an integral part of Vietnam”, aims to appeal to Vietnamese people for their support for Truong Sa islands.
During the sea festival, the organizing panel will introduce 120 art photos, reflecting the life of troops defending national sovereignty over seas and islands.

The Hanoitimes - The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Navy force held a delegation to visit the Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelago and the rig DK1 from April 18-24. A recent visit to Trường Sa (Spratley) archipelago made a strong impression on me. The border-guards there are as enduring and steady as a phong ba birch tree and have a sense of responsibility to the country and the people. We arrived in Truong Sa's biggest island after traveling on board the ship codenamed HQ 996 for one day and two nights from Cam Ranh port in the central province of Khanh Hoa. With updated weather forecasts sent to the mainland timely and continually, members of the Meteorology Station on Truong Sa Lon Island have greatly contributed to providing necessary information to the fishermen during their fishing trips offshore, to the islanders in daily life and soldiers in training drills in Truong Sa Archipelago. Truong Sa Lon Meteorology Station was built in 1977 as part of the hydro-meteorology station of Vietnam's central southern region. Several veteran artists have captured the soldiers in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in lifelike portraits with all their heart during a recent trip there. A delegation of 132 members from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee paid an 11-day visit to islands and maritime platforms in the Truong Sa archipelago earlier this month. To keep the lighthouses lit, lighthouse workers have to work all day and night in an extreme environment. Truong Sa archipelago hosts nine lighthouses, three of which are located on Da Lat (Ladd Reef), Da Tay (West Reef), and Tien Tu islands. Authorities in Danang province have invited foreign reporters as well as hundreds of foreign guests to attend an exhibition on Hoang Sa archipelago. The exhibition celebrates Liberation Day on April 30 and Labour Day on May 1, and officially opens on April 29 until May 15.
