The Department of Political Education and Education under the General Department of Politics on May 27th opened a training course on film projection in the army in Army Corps 3.
The 110 trainees are team leaders and staff in charge of screening films from southern units.
During the five-day course, experienced lecturers will introduce the trainees to HD projectors, audio and visual theory and practice in video-screening, and projectors for celluloid films.
They will also study regulations on managing and projecting films in the Vietnam People’s Army, which were issued by the General Department of Politics for film projection in the army.
The course aims to promote the quality and efficiency of film-screening in the army and to meet the cultural and artistic demands of troops under the Defence Ministry’s regulations.

The State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on August 8th opened a training course on Vietnamese language for expatriate teachers. On August 28th, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thien Nhan gave a lecture at the training course. The training course will be held under the cooperation programme with Japan. Headmasters will spend one week in Vietnam and one week in Japan. The National Fund for Vietnamese Children held a two-day training course on measures to prevent and combat HIV/AIDS for 39 kindergarteners who are working at the Centres for Social Support in 21 cities and provinces nationwide. The course initiated and funded by a US donor, Susan Clark took place on December 15-16 in Hanoi. The course provided basic knowledge and treatment with children infected with HIV/AIDS; techniques to prevent the disease contraction, available vaccinations, and ARV medicine treatment procedures. On July 29th, a training course on climate change for cadres in communes and precincts in Hanoi opened in the capital to raise awareness of the effects and measures to cope with climate change in Hanoi, and throughout Vietnam. The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has so far organised four training courses 'Effective management of supply chain' for Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises. This is within a programme on 'effective business capacity building for small and medium-sized enterprises' developed by VCCI and British Petroleum.
