(Cinet) – On November 02, at a press conference in Hanoi , the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the National Tourism Year 2013 with a theme “Red River Civilization” will take place in the northern port city of Hai Phong and many other localities next year. The event includes a wide range of tourism, sports and cultural and trade activities and the opening ceremony will take place on May 11th on the 58th anniversary of Hai Phong. The participating provinces include Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc and Bac Giang. Le Khac Nam. Vice Chairman of the Haiphong municipal People’s Committee, said National Tourism Year 2013 aims to introduce destinations and attract more domestic and foreign tourists to the region. Within the Tourism Year framework, 66 events have been scheduled including 23 organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in co-ordination with relevant agencies. The special year will also be advertised widely during “Vietnam Years” in Japan and France. Haiphong city is planning to create new tourism products and develop its current tourist attractions in order to prepare for next year.
