A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Deputy Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Nguyen Manh Hung has attended the 14th National Congress of the Peruvian Communist Party (PCP).
During their stay in Peru, the Vietnamese delegation met and worked with some leaders of PCP and the Communist Party of Peru- Red Fatherland.
At the meetings, the two sides informed each other of development situation of each party and in the two countries. They discussed measures to further promote the traditional solidarity and cooperation between the CPV with Peruvian parties.
Delegates from Peru’s parties praised recent socio-economic development achievements recorded by Vietnam and said they hope to increase the exchange of visits, the sharing of experience and cooperation with Vietnam in many fields.
Leaders of PCP and the Communist Party of Peru-Red Fatherland spoke highly of the Vietnamese military-run Viettel Group’s investment in a telecommunication network in Peru, affirming their coordination and support for Viettel and other Vietnamese businesses to do business in their country in the future.
Taking place from October 4-7 in Lima capital, the PCP’s congress was attended by more than 300 domestic delegates and a lot of delegations of political parties in the region and the world.
The congress elected a new 53-members central committee and reelected Roberto De la Cruz Huaman as General Secretary.
