An exhibition featuring paintings, sculptures and ceramic works by artists from 15 countries is being displayed at the Hanoi University Of Culture and Hoa Binh province’s Muong Cultural Space Museum. Titled “Art Under The Roof,” the event showcases works by 48 painters, 14 sculptors and 3 ceramic artisans from Asian, European and North American countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Taiwan, France, Belgium, Russia and America. The works were made within a week when the artists lived and worked at the creation camp held by Asia Art Link, a non-commercial collective founded by Vietnamese painter Trinh Tuan and Malaysian painter Ng Bee. This year’s camp, gekd in Hoa Binh’s Muong Cultural Space Museum, marks the fourth year the group has held annual activities in which artists from many countries will gather in a place to work and exchange knowledge and experience. Asia Art Link has previously organized creation camps in Taiwan, Malaysia and Philippines. “The most important thing is that this camp reflects the diversity of cultures around the world. Obviously, young Vietnamese artists have learned a lot of techniques attending these. That’s good for us since we are not as advanced as other countries,” Phan Cam thuong, an art critic, said after working at the camp. The “Art Under The Roof” exhibition will run until November 4.
