A popular show in the US aired its first episode in Vietnam on September 30. Vietnam’s “Next Top Model,” produced by Multimedia JSC and VTV3 channel, and licensed by CBS Studios International, attracted thousands of young girls to its Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi casting calls last August. Different from Vietnamese modeling contests, “Next Top Model” is a reality show featuring 15 contestants who live together in a house for two months under constant surveillance. The contestants vie for the chance to be trained and get acquainted with a model’s daily routine and work. The contestants are also cut off from the outside world and are told not to use cell phones or computers. After each episode, one candidate will be eliminated from the competition. Three frontrunners will perform on the final night, which will be broadcasted live on VTV3 channel at 8 p.m. on January 23.
