The fourth International Vovinam (traditional Vietnamese martial arts) Festival will be held in the south central province of Binh Dinh from August 1-4, according to a press briefing in Hanoi on July 6.
So far, more than 1,200 martial artists from 26 countries and territories have registered to take part in the event.
At the opening ceremony, three arts performances featuring Binh Dinh’s people and landscape and Tay Son movement will be demonstrated by 1,500 students and martial artists.
A beauty contest and a street martial arts festival will take place during the event.
The festival, which is held every two years, is organized by the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee.
Binh Dinh (VNA) – A conference on international integration and sustainable development in the south central region was opened in central Binh Dinh Province’s Quy Nhon City on September 22. The event - known as the ninth Meet Vietnam - takes place from July 28 to August 17 in Quy Nhon city and features a series of scientific seminars and discussions on interesting and challenging topics. The activity has been co-organised by the Meeting Vietnam Organisation - celebrating their 20th anniversary - along with several of Vietnam's ministries and the Binh Dinh provincial People's Committee. The Festival Tay Son-Binh Dinh 2008 will take place in Binh Dinh Province on August 1-3 to promote culture and tourism of, as well as feature traditional martial arts and theater of the birthplace of famous Emperor Quang Trung.
