Vietnam and Thailand have discussed measures to expand bilateral trade at a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar, held on Wednesday, was hosted by the Vietnam Young Business Association. Vietnamese businesses now had a good opportunity to boost exports to Thailand, Karnchana Theparuck, director of the Thailand Trade Office in Vietnam, said. In the last couple of years, Vietnamese exports to Thailand had risen very quickly, she said. While the figure last year was US$436.7 million, it has topped $358 million in just the first six months this year. Vietnam’s largest export items to Thailand are machinery, coal, manufactured goods and consumer products. Reported by Mai Phuong – Translated by Hieu Trung.
