New tours for National Tourism Year


Several new tourism services will be launched by central Thanh Hoa province this year in response to the 2015 National Tourism Year, including 11 new tours linked with a variety of local tourist attractions. The tours run through the province’s landscapes, historic relics and traditional handicraft villages, including the Tien Son cave, Doc Cuoc temple, Co Tien pagoda, Cam Luong Stream of Gold Fish, World Cultural Heritage Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, Lam Kinh National Special Relic, Ham Rong Culture Tourism Area , Thieu Trung commune’s traditional bronze casting village, Hoi Dao traditional market, and Sam Son beach. Army units act for the needy


PANO – Military Zone 4 has handed over 24 houses to its needy troops. Each house was built at a cost of VND 60 million from the gratitude fund of the Ministry of National Defence and Military Zone 4. This is among practical activities to encourage needy cadres and soldiers to overcome all difficulties to fulfill their assigned tasks. On December 14th, the Traditional Association of Truong Son-Ho Chi Minh Road organised the "Returning to the Roots" program to the Pac Bo Historical Relic in Ha Quang district and Tran Hung Dao Forest in Nguyen Binh district where the Liberation Army (the predecessor of the Vietnam People’s Army) was founded. During the program, the association, organizations and benefactors presented nine houses and 100 blankets to its needy members. The Tran Dynasty Historical Relic Complex recognized as Special National Relic


PANO - Quang Ninh province on September 13th held a ceremony at An Sinh temple to receive the certificate recognizing Tran Dynasty Historical Relic Complex in Dong Trieu district, Quang Ninh province as Special National Relic. The complex, covering 2,206 hectares, has 14 relics, including temples and pagodas in four communes of An Sinh, Binh Khe, Thuy An and Trang An. Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh highly appreciated efforts of Quang Ninh province in general and Dong Trieu district in particular in preserving and promoting cultural values of the historical relics and asked them to cooperate with local and central organs to raise the quality of relics management, preservation and development. The Aristocrats tour to stop in HCM City As part of their "Culture Clash" Asian tour, US rock band Aristocrats will perform at a live concert in HCM City on August 13. The band, made up of guitarist Guthrie Govan, bassist Bryan Beller, and drummer Narci Minnermann, will play instrumental rock and jazz fusion. The show will begin at 8 pm at the HCM City Music Centre, 57 Cao Thang Street, District 3. Tickets costing VND500,000-1 million are available at the venue. Vietnam’s big cities ready to celebrate national holidays


A wide range of activities are ready in Vietnam's big cities to entertain people during the Unification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), the country's national holidays. In Hanoi, an exhibition titled "Chuyen Cua Nguoi Dang Lon" (As We Grow Up) is going on at the Museum of Vietnam Ethnology. Typical historical and cultural places: Valuable resources for tourism


Typical historical and cultural places in Khanh Hoa Province are extremely valuable resources to develop tourism. Recently, a scientific seminar themed "Typical historical and cultural places of Khanh Hoa Province for traditional education and tourism promotion" has been held by the Department of Propaganda and Training under Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. At the seminar, the issue how to develop values of typical historical and cultural places in tourism has been discussed. France to host Vietnam Film Festival in July The French coastal city of Saint Malo plans to put on a Vietnam Film Festival this summer, organisers said at an April 8 press conference in Paris. The event will be organised by French company Iriscomm in collaboration with the French Embassy in Vietnam and the Cinema Department under Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Ngo Phuong Lan, director of the Cinema Department, said the festival will give French audiences their first viewing of films made during the past two decades that reflect important historical events, the development of Vietnam-France relations and the growth of Vietnam's film industry. Some of the films have won prizes at international film festivals.
