Defence, security info imparted to southern religious dignitaries

A training course was opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 20 to equip religious dignitaries and monks in the south with knowledge on defence and security. Course participants, who number over 100, are currently members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and leading representatives of religious groups in southern localities. During the course, participants will be provided with basic knowledge about the simultaneous national development and defence missions and the Party and State viewpoints, guidelines and policies on building people-based defence and security. PANO – The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Veterans’ Association on July 6th signed a coordination program on calculating the satisfaction index of public administration services in 2015. Accordingly, the participants will conduct a sociological survey to calculate the satisfaction index of public administration services, focusing on six administrative procedures at district and commune levels. The three district-level procedures include identification cards, land use right certificates, and house building licenses. Meanwhile, inspection on procedures on the issuance of marriage and birth certificates, and the notarization of documents will be conducted at commune level. The movement aimed to appeal to people and organisations to promote personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, food safety and hygiene at work with a focus on building hygienic latrines and waste treatment systems in rural areas. Among the 100 honourary attendees, 46 donated blood at least 20 times, 10 gave blood between 60 and 96 times, while 43 donors were appreciated for calling on others to donate blood in 2014. VietNam needs more apartments for low-income individuals Urban areas across the nation will need 700,000 apartments for low-income people by 2015, a calculation by the construction ministry said. The ministry said even if the demand for low-income apartments was met as scheduled, another 200,000 apartments would be needed by the year 2020. The larger cities will see greater demand for such apartments, the ministry said. HCM City leads the list with a need for 134,000 apartments, followed by Ha Noi with 111,200, and the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Dong Nai, and Da Nang City with 104,000, 95,000, and 16,000 apartments, respectively. The demand for low-income apartments for public service servants in Ha Noi is 30,000. Sixteen provinces and cities have approved the low-income housing development programme for 2015 so far.
