Viet Nam hopes to build on relations with Indonesia Viet Nam and Indonesia reached an agreement to foster comprehensive co-operation, particularly in economics, culture, education and peace in the East Sea, during talks in Ha Noi yesterday, March 3. Meeting with Speaker of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Sidarto Danusubroto, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said he believed the visit would tighten ties between the two nations, in particular their legislatures. He expressed hope that Indonesia would realise its goal of becoming one of the world's top 10 economies by 2025. Vietnam advocates the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga declared at a conference in Indonesia this weekend. Nga affirmed that the Southeast Asian nation supports Palestine's fight for independence at the second Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) in Jakarta on Saturday. Nga specifically said Vietnam fully backs the just struggle of the Palestinian people to reclaim its basic rights, including the rights to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Vietnam fully backs the just fight of the Palestinian people to reclaim their basic rights, including the rights to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga has declared. At the second Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) in Jakarta on March 1, Nga made it clear that Vietnam supports all regional and global efforts to seek a comprehensive, fair and sustainable solution to the Israeli-Arabian/Palestinian conflict in harmony with the United Nations' Resolutions, ensuring legitimate interests of all parties concerned for peace and stability in the region. Indonesia, Palestine step up cooperation

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah on February 28 paid an official visit to Indonesia to attend the second conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD II). He was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Malki, National Economic Minister Jawad N.A.Hirzallah, and Minister of Planning and Administrative Development Mohammad Abu Ramadan. This his first visit to Indonesia since he took office in June 2013. While staying in Indonesia, PM Hamdallah held talks with Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, during which they compared notes on issues of mutual concern, especially ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad (Source: VNA) Hung made the comments at the first Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) taking place in Tokyo, Japan, from February 13-14, where he was leading the Vietnamese delegation. Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Riad al-Maliki said yesterday/ on Thursday that Palestine was willing and ready to engage in peace process with Israel if it could show more of readiness in the process. Al-Maliki made the remarks at a press conference after the first meeting of the Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestine Development (CEAPAD).
