HA NOI (VNS)— The Vietnamese legend of King Le Loi returning the magic sword to the Holy Turtle has inspired the South Korean reality game show Running Man.
Ha Noi’s iconic Old Quarter and Ninh Binh’s picturesque landscape have been chosen as the settings for the show.
Titled The Fellowship of the Golden Sword, contestants will take on missions to find hidden swords in Ha Noi and Ninh Binh.
Nine popular South Korean celebrities, including Lee Dong-wook, Han Hye-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Yoo Jae-suk, Song Ji-hyo, and Lee Kwang-soo, have signed up for the show.
In the first episode, contestants will be divided into teams and compete in challenges including carrying fruit baskets, blind-man’s buff and finding a local restaurant near West Lake.
The missions will take place in the Old Quarter and other iconic places across the city such as the Water Puppetry Theatre, Hoan Kiem Lake and Keangnam Landmark 72, giving participants the chance to learn more about the capital.They will also be treated to local food as a reward for each completed mission.
In the second episode filmed in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and the Trang An eco-tourism complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh, contestants will dress in traditional costume and race bamboo boats to find the hidden swords.
The two episodes will be broadcast on the South Korean SBS channel this Sunday and next Sunday, March 3. — VNS
