(VOVworld) – The Ho Chi Minh city Union of Friendship Organizations hosted a ceremony on Monday in the city to mark Cuba’s 55th national day which is on January 1. Delegates recalled the glorious revolutionary traditions of the Cuban people, who undauntedly fought for their noble goals of peace, freedom and justice. Their struggle culminated in a victory on January 1, 1959, which won the admiration of the world. Over the past years, despite their geographical distance, Vietnam and Cuba have been aligned with each other by their revolutionary ideals and goals for national defense and construction. Bernabe Garcia Valido, Cuban general consul in Ho Chi Minh city, says: “The relationship between Vietnamese and Cuban people is special and friendly. Many delegations of Cuban senor officials have visited Vietnam. It demonstrates Cuba’s interest in strengthening the friendship between the two countries and peoples”.
