Two foreign patients rescued aboard Panama ship in Khanh Hoa

(VOV) – Two foreigners aboard a Panama flagged ship were rescued and brought ashore for medical examination by a Vietnamese rescue ship on November 29.

At 10.30am on November 28 the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (Vietnam MRCC) received a distress SOS from OCEAN DREAM, travelling in the waters about 298 nautical miles off Nha Trang coast, Khanh Hoa province, in central Vietnam.

Aboard the ship was an Indonesian crewmember named Mahmudi, 49, who was infected with acute diarrhoea. Michiko Yamaguchi, a Japanese passenger, 81, was suffering from pleural effusion and broken fractures.

The two patients were in critical condition.

Vietnam MRCC dispatched its rescue ship SAR27-01 to the Panama flagged vessel in distress, providing the patients with first aid services and brought them ashore for further medical treatment.
