HCM City has provided unemployment benefits for 13,200 laid-off workers between early July and early August, a rise of 1,700 year-on-year.
According to the city People’s Committee, as many as 73,700 new jobs were created in the city this year, including 9,300 in August alone.

39,400 agriculture firms closed or suspended
Up to 39,400 agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture firms have either closed down or suspended operations this year, a 71.3 per cent increase year-on-year.
On the other hand, 52,400 firms were incorporated, a decrease of 18.8 per cent, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Hung Yen seeks investment in industrial parks by 2015
The northern province of Hung Yen hopes to attract US$5 billion in foreign investment in its 13 industrial parks by 2015.
Dang Ngoc Minh, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said infrastructure has been built and upgraded and urban areas have been built to attract more investment.
In 2012 the IPs attracted foreign projects worth US$1.3 billion, a four-fold increase.
