Chairman of the Quang Ngai provincial People’s Committee has decided to unexpectedly reward the certificate of merit to Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (BSR) and Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam’s (Doosan Vina) for their achievements in the first 6 months of 2013, contributing to the socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province.
According to the BSR, in the first seven months of the year, Dung Quat Refinery, which is operated and managed by BSR, sold 3.3 million tons of products, reaching 58 percent of the plan set forth for the year; earned over 70 trillion dong of turnover; and paid money to the State budget over 11.8 trillion dong, reaching 89% of the plan.
As reported by Doosan Vina, in the first months of 2013, Doosan Vina completed and shipped the four multi-stage flash desalination plants to Saudi Arabia, 44 distillation towers and pressure vessels weighing nearly 2,000 tons to three nations worldwide of Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. It also completed and handed over 145 ton Rubber Tired Gantry Crane (RTGC) to Da Nang Port, marking an important milestone in the localization of the company. Besides, the company won two great contracts worth tens of $ US million.
In addition, many charitable activities were held by Doosan Vina such as the 5th annual medical charity program from July 6th to 13th for residents of Quang Ngai and Quang Nam with the total cost of $135,000, the “Love Porridge” CSR program for 350 patients and families at Quang Ngai Hospital.
