(VOVworld) – “Meeting Vietnam 2013″, the biggest ever scientific event in Vietnam, closed on Saturday in Binh Dinh province, where delegates discussed the latest developments related to Physics, astronomy and cosmology. Attending the event were 220 scientists from 30 countries and territories including 5 Nobel Laureates in Physics. The event included 4 symposiums: “cosmology in the Planck era”, “general relativity and gravitation”, “the fundamentals and applications of nanophysics”, and “windows on the universe”.Professor Tran Thanh Van, an overseas Vietnamese living in France and the founder of the Meeting Vietnam Association, told VOV: “Fundamental science isthe most important for Vietnam’s future. We hope Vietnam has a mechanism to help young Vietnamese scientists work more independently with better facilities. We wish that young people are given opportunities to study abroad and then return to work for Vietnam.”
The meeting saw the inauguration of the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE).
