(CPV) – A one-day football festival for Vietnamese students in Korea was held on June 30 at the sports complex of Chungnam National University in Daejeon city.
This annual event was hosted by sub-association of Vietnamese students in Chungnam National University with the sponsorship of the ICFood company, luring about 400 Vietnamese students from universities and research institutions around the country.
As many as eight men’s and five women’s football teams have competed in the event. They also enjoyed tug of war games, lucky draws for mountain bikes, return air tickets to Vietnam and other valuable gifts from the sponsor.
“ICFood company has sponsored the festival for 5 years with the scale and quality of the event improving every year. It was a good chance for students to escape their stress by playing together and refreshing themselves. They also play an important role in cultivating the Vietnam – Korea friendship ties”, said Mr Park Kyun-ik, Chairman of ICFood.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy to Korea, Ambassador Tran Trong Toan expressed his gratitude to Chairman Park Kyun-ik and the ICFood company for their active support of the sub-association’s activities for the Vietnamese students in Chungnam National University.
“The movement of studying and physical practicing of Vietnamese students in Korea over the last few years has developed a strong following in the North, Central and Southern regions. Sporting activities not only open a healthy forum for them to improve their physical health, but also connecting with each other, and toward the homeland”, said Ambassador Tran Trong Toan.
On this occasion, Mr Tran Trong Toan presented a certificate of merit to ICFood Chairman Park Kyun-ik in recognitions of his tireless efforts towards the development of the Association of Vietnamese student in Korea.
