Da Nang launches tourism logo and slogan contest

VietNamNet Bridge – The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a logo and slogan design contest for the city’s tourism sector.

The contest will open until November 13 for Vietnamese and foreigners. The organizers will award VND30 million ($1,500), a 5-day tour at a 5-star resort and a city tour by helicopter to the winner, who can create the impressive, meaningful and easy-to-remember logo and slogan, which help locate and identify Da Nang’s tourism.

Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in the case the selected logo and slogan are not created by the same authors, the two authors have to agree to combine the logo and the slogan together. The award will be also shared, with VND20 million and a 5-day tour at a 5-star resort for the logo winner and VND10 million for the slogan winner.

There is no limit on the number of entries. The logo and slogan should be in a youthful and vivid style, consistent with the trend of world tourism. Entries must include the full logo and slogan, absolutely no idea copied from the official logo of the official city of Da Nang. Copyright belongs to the examinees.

The People’s Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City holds the rights of the winning logo and slogan to register for copyright, but are not responsible for any disputes of copyright and related rights. If the logo and the slogan are discovered of copyright infringement, the organizers have the right to revoke the awards.

Candidates register and submit their works at the website dananglogo.com. The award ceremony and tourism logo and slogan announcement will be held on January 1, 2014.

In 2011, Da Nang also organized a logo and slogan design contest for the tourism industry.
