80,000 young people to join green summer volunteer campaign 2013

The Green Summer Volunteer Campaign 2013 will be launched on July 14 in Ho Chi Minh city to promote the voluntary spirit among students and young people in the city.

The volunteers will join in various activities such as environmental protection, coping with climate change, maintaining traffic safety and order, building civilized urban lifestyle and volunteering for children.

It is expected that in addition to communication activities to raise people’s awareness of environmental protection, the Road Traffic Law, the Railway Law, Law on inland waterway navigation and maintaining order and security, under the framework of the campaign, the volunteers will plant 500,000 trees to improve the environment of the city.

100 volunteer groups with 20,000 volunteers will work to ensure traffic safety. 5,000 youth in suburban areas will be provided vocational consulting, job introduction and scientific and technical progress transfer. 10 teams of volunteers with the participation of 100 physicians and doctors will examine and deliver medicines free of charge for 10,000 poor people and children. 100 young artists will participate in performances and compositions to serve people and children, and conduct other voluntary activities./.
