(VOVworld) – The Ho Chi Minh Academy of Politics and Public Administration has launched the Women in Politics and Public Administration Center (WiPPA). Speaking at the launch ceremony on Wednesday in Hanoi, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan stressed the importance of the center, saying that Vietnamese women are playing more significant role in national construction and development than ever before “I call on the leaders of the Academy and Center to promptly draw up development strategies and a roadmap for the implementation of the tasks related to training and study. A network of female leaders inside and outside Vietnam should be established. I believe that the Center will play a crucial role in pursuing gender equality and enhancing female leadership. I hope that other international organizations will provide support to the Women in Politics and Public Administration Center”.
The Center is set up to encourage greater female contribution to Vietnam’s sustainable development, and promote gender equality. In addition, the Center will advise the Party and State on adopting policies concerning female leadership.
