As part of activities during the Viet Nam- France Exchange Year to mark the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, the conference aimed to build traditional, comprehensive, long-term and reliable strategic partnership between localities of the two countries.
Addressing the event, French Minister of Development Pascan Canfin said that the conference offered a chance for those who engage in cooperation activities and social organizations to share experience and discuss ways to boost cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities.
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son underlined the importance of the conference, which took place in the context that the two countries are looking forward to establishing a strategic partnership in 2013.
The 9th Viet Nam- France decentralized cooperation conference was the highlight of political, economic and cultural activities co-organized by both countries.
Participants at the conference discussed education and training, health care and culture in the Francophone community; sustainable urban and rural planning and development; and sustainable economic development and cooperative tools serving local- level economic diplomacy.
These topics are useful and practical to Vietnamese and French localities during their current and future development course./.
