People’s air defence tasks worked out

PANO – Lieutenant-General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Executive Office of the Central Steering Council for People’s Air Defence, chaired a conference on June 7th to work out new tasks for people’s air defence from 2013.

According to a report by Major-General Ngo Manh Ha, Director of the Department of Army Air Defence, the whole-army units and nationwide localities grasp thoroughly the Governmental Decree No. 65/2002/ND-CP on people’s air defence in mobilizing the strength of the political system to build the whole-people defence and order of battle for people’s air defence in local defensive areas.

Localities across the country also attached much importance to building the order of battle for people’s air defence at the grassroots level by regularly holding training and conducting exercises, enhancing combat readiness, as well as promoting professionalism for officers in charge of people’s air defence tasks, in order to be ready to deal with any unforeseen circumstances.

In the coming time, General Tuan affirmed that army units should continue to disseminate and heighten officers and people’s awareness of people’s air defence tasks, as well as work jointly with relevant agencies of the Defence Ministry to study and carry out people’s air defence to meet new missions’ requirements.
