(VEN) – The Vietnamese M&A (Merger & Acquisition) was growing, AVM Vietnam Company General Director Dang Xuan Minh said prior to the M&A Vietnam Forum 2013, which is scheduled to take place on August 8 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Minh said that 295 M&A deals with total value of US$1.14 billion were completed in 2009, 235 deals with US$1.75 billion in 2010, 266 deals with US$4.7 billion in 2011, 157 deals with a record high US$4.95 billion in 2012 and 14 deals with US$675 million in the first quarter of this year. Particularly, Vingroup’s recent M&A deal worth several hundred million US dollars has awakened the Vietnamese M&A market, helping Vietnam take eighth place among the top M&A markets in Asia-Pacific, said Minh.
The StoxPlus Company predicted that the Vietnamese M&A market would continue to grow from 2013-2014 as a result of the increasing shift from foreign direct investment (FDI) to foreign indirect investment (FII) via M&A./.
