Kinh crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh of the majority Viet Kinh ethnicity was crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam at a pageant in Hoi An on June 26.

Anh is from Thanh Hoa Province and currently is a student at Hanoi Open University. She took the Miss Ethnic Vietnam crown along with a prize of VND100 million.

Runner-up, Lo Thi Minh from Dien Bien Province of Xinh Mun ethnicity won VND50 million. The VND30 million third prize went to Nguyen Thi Loan also of Kinh ethnicity who also took the title Miss Beach Beauty in the competition for Miss Vietnam 2010.

62 contestants from 20 ethnic groups include Tay, Ede and Co Ho opened the night with a traditional costume competition. The swimsuit and evening gown competition followed.

Six outstanding contestants were picked out for the question and answer round.

The Miss Congeniality award went to Tran Ngoc Nguyen Khanh of Lam Dong Province. The Miss Quang Nam title was given to Dang Thi Ha, a local beauty and Miss Tourism was conferred on Pham Thanh Tam from Can Tho City.

The contest marked the end of the 5th Quang Nam Festival that was held from June 19-26.
