(VEN) – The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group said the first turbine of the Nghi Son 1 Thermoelectric Plant will start generating electricity for supply to the national power grid to increase supplies for the national power system.
EVN is also ensuring that some other power projects will commence operations on schedule. These include the construction of the 500KV Song May-Tan Dinh transmission line and the 500KV Song May transformer station, increasing the capacity of the 220KV Thanh Hoa transformer station, connecting two 220KV transmission lines in Dong Hoa, Thai Binh, and increasing the capacity of vertical capacitors along 500KV transmission lines from Pleiku to Phu Lam.
In June 2013, the national power system can supply 384 million kWh of electricity per day with the highest capacity ranging from 19,600-19,900MW. Thermoelectric and hydropower plants (Son La and Hoa Binh) currently operate at their full capacity. EVN will continue to buy electricity from China./.
