PANO – Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defence Minister on May 31st met with permanent secretaries of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, Defence Minister of New Zealand and Deputy Defence Minister of the Republic of Korea at the 12th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.

At the meetings, General Vinh reiterated Vietnam’s stance to strengthen the friendship and cooperation, including national defence with these countries. He highly appreciated their support to Vietnam’s standpoints in maintaining maritime security and building an environment of peace and stability in the region basing on international rules of laws.
In addition, the Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister also thanked the nations for helping the Vietnam People’s Army train English for Vietnamese officers, creating favourable for Vietnam to soon join the UN peacekeeping operations.
