HCM City plans to hire contractors to rebuild four bridges, Le Van Si, Kieu, Bong and Hau Giang, with a total cost of VND880 billion (US$42 million). Most of the money will be funded by World Bank loans.
The construction is part of the city’s urban rehabilitation sub-project designed to improve environmental hygiene in the Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe and Tan Hoa-Lo Gom areas.

Industrial production rises by 5.2%
The country’s industrial production was up 5.2 per cent in the first six months of the year compared to the same period last year, according to the General Office of Statistics.
The highest growth was seen in the processing and manufacturing industry, leather, paper and metal products. The growth rate ranged from 4.1 per cent to 16.8 per cent.

Nearly 7,900 enterprises established
This year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, 7,900 enterprises with total capital of VND37 trillion (US$1.76 billion) have registered to open businesses. A total of 38,908 new enterprises have been established so far this year. Around 9,300 enterprises that had dissolved returned to work.

Ministry to expand family doctor clinics
About 80 family-doctor clinics will be set up in several cities and provinces as part of the project “Building and developing family-doctor clinics in Viet Nam from 2013 to 2020″, under the Ministry of Health.
About 570 trained family doctors work in the country’s major cities, including Ha Noi, HCM City, Hai Phong and Da Nang.
