(CPV) - In Hanoi, on May 28, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan presented gifts to 157 child sufferers of blood-related diseases during a visit to the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) on the “Action month for children 2013″.
Each of children with blood-related diseases received VND1 million.
Speaking at a meeting with NIHBT’s doctors and staff, Doan who is also chairwoman of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) emphasised the almost second parent-like obligation nurses and doctors must accept to help their young patients face their diseases. She wished the patients all the best for a happy International Children’s Day (June 1).
This year, the NFVC is expected to raise more than VND50 billion from individuals and organisations, both domestic and foreign to support as many as 1 million disadvantaged children nationwide.
Being together with Vietnamese children in any circumstances, the Fund is trying its best to ease their pain and daily challenges.
On the same day, Ms Nguyen Thi Doan also visited and gave gifts to children currently being treated at the National Hospital of Pediatrics./.
